Based in Frankfurt, Schleich will be responsible for the development and growth of ACE’s energy portfolio in continental Europe with an emphasis on the chemicals and petrochemicals industries.

Schleich reports to Andreas Wania, ACE country president, Germany and Matt Hardy, senior vice president, energy for ACE overseas general.

Wania said: “I am confident that Edwin’s knowledge of the chemical and petrochemical industries and his previous experience in Germany will help us to further develop our customer proposition and drive the profitable growth of our energy portfolio across the Continent.”

Hardy added: “Creating this new role demonstrates ACE’s commitment to increasing its presence in Europe’s energy markets and positioning our underwriting talent, capital and capacity at a local level to meet client needs. Given his extensive underwriting and industry experience, Edwin will be instrumental in bringing our European clients and brokers closer access to ACE’s energy capabilities.”
