Winners to be announced at a conference in June

ALARM has announced the finalists in its Annual Awards scheme 2009.

The Awards are given in recognition of excellence in the management of people risk, asset risk, operational risk, and strategic risk in the public services.

One outstanding individual is awarded the title of ‘Risk Manager of the Year’ and the most promising risk practitioner under 35 is named ‘Risk Management Young Achiever of the Year’.

The association said: ‘The 2009 Awards have attracted a high number of innovative entries, demonstrating the value added by risk management in what are challenging times for the public services.’

The winners will be announced at the Alarm Annual Awards Dinner, taking place at the Bournemouth International Centre on June 22.

ALARM chief executive, Dr Lynn Drennan, said: ‘Yet again, we have received a high number of entries for the Awards, making the task for the judges an extremely challenging one.’
