Matthew Norris joins the specialist insurance and underwriting service provider

Beazley has appointed Matthew Norris to its small business technology team in Europe.

Norris joins the company from Hiscox, where he was global product head for technology and data risks.

While at Hiscox, he was responsible for the launch of a series of pioneering products, including one of the first cyber liability products in 1998 and an innovative data risks product in 2007. He was also responsible for the development of Hiscox’s online broker access platform for the London market.

Prior to joining Hiscox in 1997 he was a casualty underwriter at Sun Alliance for seven years.

Beazley head of specialty lines Adrian Cox said: “The insurance needs of technology, media and consulting companies are evolving rapidly, particularly among smaller firms. We see significant growth opportunities in the UK and continental Europe and Matt’s experience will be very valuable to us as we continue to expand our offerings in these markets.”
