Peter Montagnon, head of investment affairs at the Association of British Insurers (ABI), will be the opening speaker at AIRMIC's annual conference in Brighton from 13 to 15 June

The other keynote speakers are CBI director general Sir Digby Jones (pictured above), journalist and commentator Andrew Neil, and Michael Mainelli, who works with consultancy Z/Yen. Mainelli has done extensive project work on risk/reward, including innovative ways of dealing with environmental risk.

The conference begins with registration and training sessions and with the opening of the exhibition. The training sessions will cover due diligence, corporate property risk management standards, and the link between risk management, treasury and finance with share price and shareholder value.

On Tuesday morning, the opening session will be dedicated to keynote addresses, followed by lectures and workshops in the afternoon. The AIRMIC AGM takes place on Wednesday morning, followed by further lectures and workshops. The final afternoon concludes with a forum on matters of current interest, Andrew Neil's keynote address and chairman Andrew Cornish's review of the year.

Among the individual session speakers are StrategicRISK's European risk manager of the year, Kenneth Norbert, on strategic partnership in risk management, Toby Foster of Marsh UK retail on how brokers can add value, risk manager Richard Reddaway on partnerships at GlaxoSmithKline and Jon Woodman of Royal & Sun Alliance on the knowledge triangle.

Workshop topics include risk management standards, international communication of risk management, work rehabilitation, directors' and officers' liability, multinational employee benefits, insurance in the railway industry and the future of the insurance market.
