A baby in the US has died of swine flu, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

A baby in the United States has died of swine flu marking the first confirmed death from the disease outside of Mexico, where the outbreak started, according to media reports.

The head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed the child’s death in an interview with CNN.

The World Health Organisation has confirmed 105 cases of swine flu in seven countries. More than half of those (66) are in the United States. Swine flu is suspected of killing at least 159 people in Mexico and sickening more than 2,400 there, reported the new York Times.
