Guernsey Insurance Company Management Association is holding a conference on the island on 28 September. Keynote speaker at Risk 2000 will be Jeremy Meyrick-Jones, director of group risk management at BAe Systems. He will talk about change in risk culture within BAe and the resulting benefits. Other sessions include:

  • an introduction to captives forum, looking at captive formation, regulation and domicile issues, accounting, taxation and developments in protected cell companies

  • speeches on alternative risk transfer (ART) and on the opportunities and danc for the risk industry within Eastern Euro

  • a debate - "Is the traditional risk man; er doomed?" Gordon Dickson of Glasgov Caledonian University will speak for the motion, arguing that the internal auditor likely to take on much of the risk manag work.
