A man allegedly hacked into Governor Palin’s account, stole personal information and posted the details online

A man was hauled in front of a Federal Court in Tennessee for hacking into Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s e-mail account.

David Kernell turned himself over to the federal authorities.

According to court documents, on September 16 Kernell obtained unauthorised access to Governor Palin’s personal e-mail by resetting the account password.

After answering a series of security questions that allowed him to reset the password and gain access to the e-mail account, he read the contents of the account and made screenshots.

Kernell then posted the screenshots along with the account password on a public website.

If convicted of the charge he faces a maximum of five years in prison.
