IRM honours best student with award

John Keating of ACE European Group has won the Institute of Risk Management’s (IRM) best student award 2007 for its principal qualification, the diploma in risk management.

The prize – which is two weeks’ all expenses paid work experience in Turkey, sponsored by the Business Resilience Group (BRG) – was awarded at the IRM’s annual Risk Forum on Wednesday.

To compete for the award, the six students who achieved the highest marks in the examination and assignment components of the Diploma were given 24 hours to produce a 1,000 word submission on risk management in Turkey as an emerging market economy. The entries were then judged by a panel consisting of IRM and BRG representatives, and the candidates were also interviewed about their submissions.

The IRM awarded 17 prizes in 2007.
