eControl Risks Group international maritime division has teamed up with Port Maritime Security International (PMSI) to offer a security solution throughout the logistics supply chain

Control Risks' consultants provide strategic assessment and advice on port and terminal security, while PMSI provides the security training.

A priority will be ensuring clients comply with the new International Ship and Port Facility Security Code, which comes into force on 1 July 2004. The Code is a comprehensive security regime, and contains mandatory requirements for ship and port security plans, security officers, equipment and training. Some ports have already said they will ban ships that are not compliant, and insurance experts are predicting that compliance will almost certainly be a requirement for valid insurance.
