Insurance broker Marsh has appointed Siegmund Fahrig to succeed Flavio Piccolomini as CEO of its Continental Europe region

Siegmund Fahrig (pictured) has been appointed by Marsh as the broker’s regional CEO for Continental Europe.

He replaces Flavio Piccolomini, who was recently appointed CEO of Marsh’s international division.

Fahrig previously served as CEO of Marsh’s operations in Germany, Central & Eastern Europe, and CIS (encompassing Russia and the former Soviet countries to the east of the EU).

Based in Dusseldorf, he will continue as CEO of Marsh Germany, a role held since 2010, reporting to Piccolomini.

During his career which began at Gerling, Fahrig has had held senior roles within the industry, including ten years at the captive broker of Readymix, today known as CEMEX.

He joined Marsh in October 2000 as office head of Marsh in Düsseldorf.

“Siegmund’s impressive track record of building strong client relationships make him ideally suited to continue the expansion of our offering in Continental Europe,” said Piccolomini.

“I look forward to working closely with Siegmund to deliver superior services and solutions to our clients across the region,” he added.
