AIRMIC's new chairman, Andrew Cornish, writes

"Few people have the same capacity as risk managers to bring together different parts of their organisation. A good risk manager will identify problems and opportunities that others may not have noticed and will then instigate discussion, leading to action. In short, he or she can be the supreme catalyst.

As with risk managers, so it is with AIRMIC. We have shown ourselves to be a highly influential organisation in the past, and we have the potential to become even more so. But we can only achieve what we want to achieve by working with others, be they members, sponsors, insurers, brokers or other associations. Hence my theme for the year: Progress through Partnership."
