Are you ready for change? This is the theme of the FERMA seminar, which will take place in Brussels on 11 October 2006.

The seminar is a smaller, more intimate event than the FERMA Forum, which is held in alternate years, because it is only open to risk manager members of FERMA.

The seminar will:

- Announce the results of the 2006 FERMA survey

- Update members on the European Commission study of insurance business practices

- Look at the issues involved in change management in the insurance industry, including remuneration disclosure by brokers and production of contract terms and conditions

- Consider changes in risk management activities

- Analyse the contribution of risk management to corporate governance matters.

However, the day starts with the formal launch of Prorim. Prorim - or professional risk management - is FERMA's e-learning course in risk management for small and medium sized businesses, developed with the risk management associations and academic institutions in France, Germany, Italy and the UK. Following the launch, FERMA and its partners will begin to offer Prorim commercially.

Ernst & Young and AXA Corporate Solutions will present the results of the 2006 benchmarking survey, which has seen a healthy response from risk manager members of FERMA associations on topics such as risk management objectives, policy and practices, relationships, and communication.

Risk managers who would like to attend but have yet to register, should contact the FERMA office. Tel: +32 2227 1138 or e-mail Florence Bindelle at Florence.Bindelle@ferma-asso.org
