Lack of clarification may account for level of uncertainty

Visitors to the StrategicRISK website remain uncertain over the need for a pan-European certification, according to last week’s poll.

When asked: “Do you believe that a pan-European certification will add value to the risk management profession?”, 41.1% of participants said that they were unsure. Those for and against were equal in amounts, with each response receiving 29.4% of the vote.

The poll took place in reaction to the Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA’s) recent announcement that it intends to create a pan-European certification by 2013.

The European body will delay providing details about the move until its Seminar in Versailles on 22-23 October, which may account for the level of uncertainty.
