Protests occur across the country over island dispute
Anti-Japan protests take place in several Chinese cities on Sunday after a Japanese group landed on an island both countries claim to be their own.
There were protests in Hong King, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shenyang, and Qingdao, China Daily reported. Protesters burned Japanese flags, overturned Japanese-made cars and chanted that Japan should leave the island.
The island is part of an uninhabited chain in the East China Sea claimed by both countries. China calls them Diaoyu and Japan calls them Senkaku.
A group of ten Japanese landed on the island on Sunday waving Japanese flags and draping one over a lighthouse there.
The stunt came just days after a Chinese group arrived there on Wednesday. They were later arrested by Japanese authorities.
