National Highway Traffic Safety Administration orders recall after finding faulty filter flange

Mercedes recalls 5,800 cars in U.S.A.

Mercedes-Benz has issued a product recall on almost 6,000 cars owing to a faulty filter flange that may bring about fuel leaks.

The US recall, ordered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration covers some of its most popular models, including the C300, CL550, CL63 AMG, E350, GLK350, S400 Hybrid, S550 and S63 AMG. 

The German car manufacturer has begun notifying owners, who will be able to have the faulty component replaced free of charge at their local dealership.
