ACE Group is continuing to develop its presence in  Eurasia and Africa with two key appointments.

ACE casualty underwriting manager MENA Shankar Krishnan has been promoted to the newly created underwriting management role for Eurasia and Africa.

Based in Dubai, Krishnan will be responsible for the performance and development of its expanding portfolio of casualty business and the team of local casualty underwriters across the region’s nine markets in the Middle East, Turkey, Africa and Russia.

ACE overseas general executive vice-president of global casualty Mark Homan said: “Shankar’s extensive profit centre responsibilities and the breadth of his experience – spanning underwriting, reinsurance, claims, distribution and general management – equip him strongly for this important new role. I look forward to working with him as we continue to grow our business.”

In a further move, ACE has appointed Susan McDonald to the role of regional general counsel for Eurasia and Africa.

McDonald was formerly legal and compliance manager for MENA. She will now be responsible for overseeing the legal and compliance functions of ACE’s operations in Eurasia and Africa.

The two appointments are the latest in a series of new management positions within ACE’s newest geographical business region to have been announced in recent weeks. These have included regional heads of travel insurance and property risk engineering.
